School Games Legacy Event: On the 22nd and 23rd of June 2023, Sport Birmingham is hosting a remarkable event to celebrate nearly one year since the Commonwealth Games came to Birmingham.
This event, held at the iconic Alexander Stadium, will gather over 1,000 enthusiastic young people. We’re seeking motivated individuals like you to volunteer as Event Assistants, helping us create an exciting and engaging experience.
From registration and marshalling to motivating and encouraging young participants, your support will be invaluable. Sports organizations like Warwickshire Cricket, England Squash, Badminton England, and many more will be in attendance. Choose between one or two days of volunteering, with flexible AM/PM or all-day shifts. Rest assured, lunch and a volunteer t-shirt will be provided on the day.
IBSA World Games 2023: Get ready for a historic event! From the 18th to the 27th of August, the International Blind Sport Federation (IBSA) World Games will take place across Birmingham, Coventry, Warwick, and Walsall.
This is the first time the UK has hosted the event, attracting approximately 1,250 blind and partially sighted athletes from 70 countries. Competing in 10 sports, including men’s blind football, goalball, and judo (qualification tournaments for the 2024 Paralympic Games), this event promises unparalleled excitement.
We need over 400 volunteers to ensure its success. Opportunities range from assisting athletes and creating media content to providing exceptional spectator experiences. The venues include the University of Birmingham’s Edgbaston campus, Coventry Building Society Arena, and the University of Wolverhampton’s Walsall Campus.
Volunteer shifts are available from the 12th to the 28th of August, with a higher level of support needed during the World Games competition days. Apply now, indicating your availability and location preferences. The selection process will take place throughout June and July.
