Bring the Power

An Award Winning Youth Engagement Project

Bring the Power is a youth project for young people aged 5-25 which focuses on promoting opportunities for people with disabilities, getting more women and girls participating in physical activity, and lifting youth voice.

Addressing Inequalities

Bring The Power seeks to address the imbalance of female representation within the sports sector and access to opportunities for young people with disabilities across the digital, arts and sport sectors. We will encourage our delivery partners to help us work towards this cause and promote Bring the Power opportunities to young people from those demographics.

One year on from the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, these fun and interactive presentations reflect on the highlights and legacy, and aim to inspire young people across the West Midlands to get active, find their voice and contribute to their local communities.

They can be used flexibly for assemblies, in class, or in youth group sessions.

Both presentations include:

  • What it meant for each Local Authority within the West Midlands.
  • More about Hometown Heroes so children can consider what we can learn from them, from determination to self-belief.
  • Encouraging young people to come up with new ways to get active and have fun, help their local community and raise awareness of social issues they care about.
  • Optional film clips to bring these themes to life.
